InstantVap® Lite Oxalic Acid Vaporizer

A lightweight, affordable oxalic acid vaporizer designed for small-scale beekeepers who still want performance and durability.

The InstantVap Lite is our most accessible model — ideal for hobbyists or anyone managing up to 20 hives. It offers the same high-quality materials and precision heating technology found in the Original and Compact units, with a streamlined design focused on simplicity and cost-efficiency.

🔑 Key Features

  • Durable Construction: Built with stainless steel, aluminum, and brass — the same tough materials used in our Original and Compact models.
  • Advanced Temperature Regulation: Maintains stable heating for reliable oxalic acid vaporization.
  • Battery Protection System: Includes deep discharge protection to help prolong battery life.
  • LED Status Indicator: Clearly displays unit status during use (same LED system as the Compact).
  • Lightweight Design: Weighs just 0.7 kg (1.54 lbs) for easy, comfortable handling.
  • Auto Activation: Heats automatically when the battery is connected — no manual switch required.

📦 What’s Included

  • InstantVap Lite vaporizer unit
  • Lite-specific adjustable dispenser
  • Silicone cleaning cap
  • Spare O-ring
  • Multilingual user manual (EN-DE-FR)

⚙️ Performance + Operating Notes

  • Dose: Adjustable 1–4 g. Most beekeepers run 2 g or 4 g per hive.
  • Heating Time: Requires approx. 50–60 seconds to reach operating temperature.
  • Vaporization Time: Typically 25–30 seconds per 2 g dose, or about 1 minute 30 seconds per 4 g dose, followed by a brief reheating interval.
  • Battery: Use a 3Ah or larger battery. Smaller packs will run it, but they sag under load and slow the cycle down.
  • Compatible with Larger Batteries: Higher-capacity batteries can reduce cycle time between treatments.

🔄 Differences from Other Models

  • Compact, Cost-Saving Design: Reduced chamber size and simplified housing make it more affordable while preserving performance.
  • Exclusive Components: The Lite uses its own dispenser, silicone cap, and brass outlet — not interchangeable with the Original or Compact models.
  • No Manual Switch: Simpler plug-and-play operation.
  • Modest Battery Requirement: Happy on a 3Ah battery, the size that comes with most drill kits — no need to buy a big 5Ah pack.

✅ Recommended Use

  • Best for beekeepers with up to 20 hives — ideal for hobbyists, beginners, or as a travel-friendly backup unit.
  • For larger operations, consider the InstantVap Compact or Original models for faster, more continuous treatments.

🧪 When to Use Oxalic Acid Vaporization

Oxalic acid vaporization is most effective when mites are on adult bees, not hidden beneath wax cappings. Since oxalic acid can’t penetrate capped brood, the best results happen when the colony is broodless or has reduced brood.

Great times to treat include:

  • Late fall or winter, when bees are clustered and broodless
  • After capturing or installing a swarm
  • During a natural brood break or after requeening

These treatment windows allow the vapor to reach nearly every mite — increasing success rates without disrupting the colony.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the InstantVap Lite come with a battery?
A: No, batteries are not included. The Lite is compatible with DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid, and Bosch batteries — just like our other models.

Q: What size battery does the Lite need?
A: A 3Ah or larger battery. That is the pack that comes with most drill kits, so you probably already own one. The Compact, Original and Turbo want 5Ah or larger.

Q: What oxalic acid should I use?
A: Use only EPA-approved products like EZ-OX® to ensure safe, legal, and effective treatment.

Q: Do I need safety gear for the Lite?
A: Yes — oxalic acid vapor should never be inhaled. We recommend using the PD-101 Full Face Respirator for protection.

Q: Can I use accessories from the other models?
A: No — the Lite has its own unique dispenser, cap, and brass outlet tube. These parts are not interchangeable with Original or Compact models.
