Galvanized Metal 9 Frame Queen Excluder is specifically designed to seat into the top rim of the yellow plastic protective edges onto the brood box. Queen excluders are an optional tool that, when placed below a honey super, will prevent the queen bee from accessing the honey super above her, so she cannot lay eggs/brood in it. Worker bees can easily access the honey super through the metal mesh to draw wax, deposit nectar, and cap cells; however, the queen's thorax is too large and she cannot squeeze through.
Cleans easily with a wire brush.
